It has come to our attention that a fair number of customers are securing their gumball machine to its stand improperly. Many customers are securing the bolts through the bottom holes of the flange into the machine. It should be the other way around. The bolts should be coming from inside the machine, securing it to the flange.

First off, the hole locations will be different depending on which stand you have as the diameter of the stands vary from 1” to 2”. You can locate the holes you will be using by lining up the flange along the bottom of your gumball machines base.

Once the proper holes are located, it is time to secure your gumball machine to the flange. Take your bolts and firmly secure the flange to the base from the inside of your machine. This ensures someone cannot come to your machine with a wrench and release the bolts from the bottom of the machine.

Maximize your bulk vending route with a Cash Box upgrade! You will slash the time spent servicing your gumball machines in half as you no longer have to remove the globe to empty coins. It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3, all you have to do is turn the key and pull out the coins. This all metal base is slightly deeper than the standard base and will hold approximately $150 in quarters. You also have the option of placing the drawer facing the front or the back. The Cash Box upgrade is a wonderful addition for your bulk vending machine.

The first thing to think about when starting your bulk vending route is location. The second thought should be on the specifics of your route. Ease of commute from machine to machine is key to building a smooth business..

Once you have your route mapped out, think about separating your routes into clusters. By separating your route into clusters (ex: 10 square mile groups), you will open yourself up to increased mobility while allowing yourself extra time, as one never knows when a machine will need servicing beyond a regular refill. Ideally, you would aim to take one route to your vending “cluster” area while taking a different route on the way back passing different sets of machines and opening more options to service different these machines along your route. This will help you manage your time and service more machines without going too far out of your way during one service day.

Does your bulk vending machine have a lot of foot traffic? How many times have you passed a vending machine and kept on walking once you realized you only had a $5 note in your pocket and the machine only accepts coins? Now multiply that by your foot traffic and figure out how many potential customers walked on by. Those lost customers can now be turned into solid revenue with a battery operated bill change machine! Make the machine work for you. Change and a sale can be made at the same time!

Running a full line vending business could be very lucrative once a few hurdles are cleared It may be a bit more difficult to find space for a soda/snack machine rather than a much smaller gumball machine

Running a full line vending business could be very lucrative once a few hurdles are cleared. Here are a few points to weigh when getting into the vending business:

It may be a bit more difficult to find space for a soda/snack machine rather than a much smaller gumball machine. Your soda/snack machine will take up more floor space and will have leave space for foot traffic.

You will need a van or a truck to carry product. Transporting your refill product will take up more vehicle space.

General maintenance costs will be more as the parts generally consist of electronic components, you may need a technician to make the repairs and transporting the machine may incur some costs.

Nevertheless, taking those hurdles into account, the return on investment should be very robust long term.
