When it comes to your business, less is usually more. If you spend less per gumball, you make more profit…less is more! However, when it comes to cheap vending machines, less isn’t always more. Let me tell you about a cheap gumball vending machine I bought last year.
I needed two new candy vending machines for a particular location that I had secured. I searched online and found these vending machines that were about $100 less that the machine I normally buy. I decided to just buy one of these cheap machines and one of my regular vending machines.
After two months, I’ve had to spend $150 in parts on the cheap vending machine. When I first took the machine apart to replace the coin acceptor, most of the parts were plastic! It’s like they never even tested the machine before selling it to me. On top of that, parts were hard to find, my existing stock of replacement parts didn’t fit and I had to go back to the manufacturer who explained they didn’t have a warranty on the coin acceptor…ridiculous!
So what do you get for less money? More headaches! Spend a little bit more on your “cheap” vending machines and you won’t regret it.
